How long should a propane grill last?

Quick answer

A quality propane grill often lasts 10–15 years with regular cleaning and occasional burner or igniter replacement. Budget carts may need major parts in 5–7 years. Fireboxes and lids outlast burners — replacing burners and grates is normal maintenance, not a sign the grill is dead.

What wears first

  • Burners and igniters
  • Flavorizer bars or heat tents
  • Hoses and regulators outdoors
  • Exterior cosmetic rust on painted steel

Extend life

Use a cover, clean grease paths, and buy models with available parts. Our showrooms stock parts for major brands we carry.
