How often should I clean my grill?

Quick answer

Brush grates after most cooks, empty the grease tray weekly during heavy use, and deep-clean burners and the firebox 1–2 times per season. A quick 5-minute post-cook brush prevents most flare-ups and extends burner life.

After every cook

Brush grates while warm (not screaming hot), wipe exterior spills, check grease cup level.

Monthly / seasonal

Pull flavorizer bars, vacuum ash, inspect burner ports, wash grease paths with warm soapy water, and oil cast-iron grates lightly after deep clean.
